Jerky Mac & Cheese

It was cloudy and chilly the other evening and I was craving some comfort food. This Jerky Mac & Cheese really hit the spot. The jerky was really tender and the smoky flavor was really nice with the cheese sauce.

Ingredients

1 box macaroni 12 oz

3 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

1 cup milk

1 cup cream

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon mustard powder

½ teaspoon paprika

1½ cups grated Gouda

1½ cups grated medium Cheddar

1 bag Meat Chops Beef Jerky chopped

Topping

½ cup grated parmesan

¾ cup panko

Cook Pasta until al dente drain and set aside. Preheat oven to 350.

Melt butter in pot over medium heat and whisk in the flower. Wisk constantly, adjust heat to prevent burning. Cook for about a minute. Slowly add the milk while continuing to whisk. Then add the cream bring mixture to simmer until it thickens. Add the salt, paprika and mustard powder and mix well. Add the cheese and stir until melted. Mix in chopped beef jerky. Combine with pasta and transfer to an oven proof dish. Mix the panko and parmesan and sprinkle on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and topping is crispy.

I made this gluten free by swapping out the noodles flower and panko for gluten free options.
